Feinmann transformed this beautiful and almost 200-year-old home in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The client was a detail-oriented couple with a distinct taste and passion for design. Since they were open to new ideas, the possibilities and creativity were endless. Solutions, suggestions, and inspirations flew back and forth from start to finish, creating a truly unforgettable project. The primary goal was to expand the kitchen. However, we couldn’t renovate this room because it was part of the rear section of the home that had no foundation. To work around this limitation and Boston’s strict zoning guidelines, we replaced the back of their ... read moreReimagined Roots

As a family grows, their home must grow with them. Feinmann thoughtfully reimagined a 1750-square-foot semi-finished basement to meet the entire family’s needs. The result was a unique combination of living spaces that leveraged a striking balance of modern and rustic charm. We first built a beautiful living space for the daughter, a thriving teacher, and an empty-nester. Her goals were downsizing, being closer to her parents, and caring for them. This space features an open, airy kitchen and living room with clean finishes and bright colors. It also includes an easy-access walk-in food pantry and a bedroom and bathroom ... read moreBlue Haven

Feinmann transformed this split-level home in Lexington, MA into a desired, open concept first floor with a new kitchen, dining room, and family room for a family of four to enjoy. The homeowners loved the location of their home but had inherited a previous renovation that just didn’t work for them from both a functionality and aesthetics standpoint. Lexington The clients were moving from out-of-state to a house in Lexington that was previously expanded by two ill-conceived remodeling projects, adding square footage but creating disjointed spaces. The most recent addition was a rusticated sunroom abutting the backyard pool area. The rooms were stacked up like boxes, one behind the other. The goal was to create a floor plan that graciously created a natural flow between the spaces including an enlarged kitchen, eating area and family room. A couple who had recently purchased a 1960s Colonial in Boston came to Feinmann looking to renovate the kitchen, open up the space, and improve the first floor layout and circulation. The traditional center-hall Colonial floor plan meant there were walls dividing every room, with an intrusively located powder room opposite the entry, making the passageways feel dark and narrow. At the rear of the house was a beautiful deck/pergola looking onto an intimate backyard. The homeowners sought to make their house more attractive, more comfortable and more hospitable for themselves and for company. As things stood, they never entertained because their home felt too “clumsy” – especially the kitchen which, in a prime location, was cluttered and in need of updating.
